County Republicans back Corbett, local legislators

The Centre County Republicans announced its endorsements Wednesday for the upcoming primary and general election, backing the sitting administration and the Republicans in the local races, according to a news release.

President Daryl Schafer urged Republicans to support Gov. Tom Corbett, Lt. Gov. Jim Cawley, U.S. Rep. Glenn Thompson, state Sen. Jake Corman, state Rep. Kerry Benninghoff and state Rep. Mike Fleck.

The decision came after a meeting Sunday. The primary is scheduled for May 20.
