Rockview inmate sentenced for rape of cellmate
A Rockview inmate was sentenced to state time Thursday for the rape of his cellmate.
According to a news release from the District Attorney’s Office, Brian White, 32, was sentenced to serve four to eight years in a state correctional facility consecutive to his current state sentence. White had previously pleaded guilty to a first-degree felony charge of rape.
The charges stem from an incident on July 23, 2014, the release said. White had awoken his cellmate in the middle of the night and violently choked him before forcing himself on the victim, causing physical injuries. The victim was taken to Mount Nittany Medical Center where he gave a statement to state police.
Judge Jonathan Grine, who presided over the sentencing, designated White as a sexually violent predator, the release said. White will be required to register under the Sex Offender Registration and Notification Act for the rest of his life.
