Ex-beauty queen waives hearing on additional charges
Brandi Lee Weaver-Gates, 23, is remaining in jail as she awaits disposition on more charges.
The former Centre County beauty queen was originally charged with fraud in August as prosecutors claimed she misled people into giving her money claiming a cancer diagnosis.
On Nov. 23, additional charges were filed. State police at Rockview filed three more counts of theft by deception and three more counts of receiving stolen property.
Weaver-Gates waived her preliminary hearing on the additional charges this week.
The former Miss Pennsylvania US International remains in Centre County Correctional Facility in lieu of $150,000 bond.
