Reported theft makes bad day for State College knight

A downtown business has reported the theft of a large metal statue of a medieval knight.

The State College police are looking into the retail theft. The incident occurred at about 11 a.m. Nov. 12 at the Gift Adventures store on Beaver Avenue, when police say a white male picked up the sculpture from its post in front of the shop, carted it off to a vehicle on South Pugh Street and left the area.

A photograph of a similar knight statue was released by police Wednesday.

Anyone with information is asked to call police at 234-7150, email the department at police@statecollegepa.us or submit an anonymous tip through the borough’s website at www.statecollegepa.us.
