Woman charged with theft waives hearing

A woman accused of stealing multiple items from a residence in Bellefonte and another in Penn Township, to allegedly buy drugs, waived her preliminary hearing Wednesday.

According to a criminal complaint, Brandy D. Ammerman, 37, of Milesburg, allegedly stole items from a home in Bellefonte on Dec. 5.

The victim spoke to officer Anthony Roefaro, of the Bellefonte Police Department, telling him several “items were missing from his residence.”

According to the affidavit of probable cause, Ammerman told police she stole the missing items, which included video games, a laptop, a portable game console and pellet gun.

Ammerman also admitted to police she sold the items to the store, Game Matrix in Lock Haven.

The criminal complaint indicates Ammerman told police she sold the items to buy drugs. Court documents say Ammerman told police that she and friend were supposed to get heroin with the money.

Court documents indicate a separate incident took place on Nov. 19 when Ammerman allegedly broke into another home on Penns Creek Road in Coburn.

Court documents allege Ammerman stole clothing, CDs, a purse, bag of potato chips and photographs.

A mutual friend of the second victim and Ammerman reportedly told the victim that Ammerman also broke into her home.

When police spoke with Ammerman about the incident, she admitted to stealing the items.

According to the criminal complaint, Ammerman “advised police that the Penn State pants she was currently wearing, are the same pants that she had taken” from the victim’s residence.

Ammerman has been charged with a felony count of burglary, three misdemeanor counts of theft and one misdemeanor count of receiving stolen property.
