Man being held on charges of terroristic threats, simple assault
A man charged with making terroristic threats to members of his family is being held at the Centre County Correctional Facility on $25,000 monetary bail.
At about 11 p.m. Sunday, police were dispatched to a home on Autumnwood Drive to investigate an incident involving Adam Marshall Boone, 19, of State College. Boone allegedly sent threatening text messages to a relative who lives in the house.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, the text messages included threats to “kick doors in and burn the house down.”
The relative told police that he did not want charges filed against Boone but did want “resources and possible counseling.”
Police were dispatched to the home less than an hour later, at about midnight, and were told by the relative that Boone came home from work “agitated from a previous verbal altercation.”
Court documents indicate the relative advised police that he “did not want Boone inside of the house and decided that he should not stay at the residence.”
Court documents also say the relative told police that a “physical altercation ensued at the door as Boone struggled to get inside.”
According to the affidavit, once inside Boone made a statement that he was going to “go and get buckshot and a gun from his bedroom.”
Court documents indicate that when police went upstairs, “a shotgun was located within 2 to 3 feet of the door.” The police say they also found a rifle on the bed with the lever opened. The gun cabinet was also opened.”
Boone is charged with two misdemeanors, including making terroristic threats and simple assault. He is also charged with harassment.
Boone’s preliminary hearing is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. Jan. 6 at the Centre County Courthouse.
