Bellefonte man charged with possessing child pornography
A Bellefonte man was charged with possession of child pornography Tuesday.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Pennsylvania alleges child pornography was found in the home of Robert J. Elder, 39, in August 2014.
According to a press release issued Tuesday, “a computer, tapes, DVDs, hard drives and discs” have been seized. Elder has entered into a plea agreement that is awaiting approval by the court.
The investigation was led by the U.S. Postal Service as part of an investigation into a child pornography website.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Wayne P. Samuelson will prosecute Elder.
If Elder is found guilty, he could face up to 20 years in prison and a fine of $250,000.
