Returning student finds intruder in State College apartment
A student came back to State College on Tuesday after being out of town to an unwelcome surprise — a male intruder.
The student entered her apartment on the 800 block of South Pugh Street at about 8:30 p.m., according to State College police.
“When the female tried to call 911, the suspect tried to take her phone from her,” a police report said. “The male fled on foot southbound on South Pugh Street. It seemed the male had been at the residence for a longer period of time as the female discovered that her bed, underwear and other clothing items were tampered with. It’s suspected the suspect had entered the house through an unlocked window.”
The suspect is a skinny, white college-aged man, weighing about 130 to 140 pounds, police say.
He has short, wavy dirty blond or light brown hair with no facial hair. He has blue or green eyes and was not wearing glasses. The male was wearing a tan or green sweatshirt type coat that zipped up, a T-shirt, blue jeans and black dancer shoes, carrying a Swiss army-type black backpack with a red cross on it, according to police.
