District Judge Tom Jordan arraigned a man accused of using a fraudulent name to order marijuana Friday.

Police allege Dian Sewo Diallo, 37, had a package containing shrink-wrapped bundles of marijuana shipped via UPS to his residence on University Drive in State College.

Police were made aware of the suspicious package by UPS on Thursday. According to the affidavit of probable cause, the inspecting officer observed a “heavily taped” parcel.

Police obtained a search warrant and examined the contents of the package finding two plastic buckets inside, wrapped in numerous layers of foil, tape, plastic bags and tissue paper. Inside the buckets police found the marijuana.

Once the marijuana was discovered, police say they controlled the delivery of the parcel to Diallo’s residence, placing it by the front door.

A man, later determined to be Diallo, retrieved the package from the porch. Minutes later, police knocked on Diallo’s door, exhibiting a search warrant.

Diallo was found in the living room. Police found the marijuana still inside the parcel, but the packaging material was dispersed throughout the house. Police also discovered additional bags of marijuana in a wooden drum in Diallo’s bedroom.

Diallo is facing a felony charge of possession of marijuana for the 8 pounds found in the package in addition to two misdemeanor counts, including possession of drug paraphernalia.

Diallo is awaiting his preliminary hearing Jan. 20. He was unable to post bail, which was set at $50,000.
