Man waives preliminary hearing in stalking case
John Williams, 52, of Bellefonte, waived his preliminary hearings Wednesday morning.
Williams, also known as Jay, is charged with stalking his former girlfriend and unlawfully disseminating intimate photos of her.
The woman filed a complaint against Williams on Sept. 23, telling police that she had received “unwanted text messages” from him.
She told police that she had dated Williams in August but “no longer wanted to see” him.
According to court documents, despite being told she did not want to hear from Williams, he continued to harass her and her friends via social media.
Williams is accused of posting nude pictures of the woman in the hallway of her apartment building.
Charges were bound over for trial. A pretrial conference will be held March 17 and Williams will have to enter a plea. If he pleads guilty, he will be sentenced; if he pleads not guilty, the case will proceed to trial.
At this time, Williams remains free on his own recognizance and is not permitted to contact the victim.
