A State College man has been charged with burglary.

State College police say William J. White, 29, entered an apartment Thursday at 623 W. College Ave., pulled out a silver handgun and threatened the people inside.

Police “located the suspect a short distance away,” and say White had a .22-caliber handgun and a stolen backpack from an apartment at 607 W. College Ave.

White was charged with two counts of felony burglary, two counts of felony trespassing, two counts of misdemeanor terroristic threats, two more misdemeanors and public drunkenness.

District Judge Carmine Prestia arraigned White, who was put in Centre County Correctional Facility in lieu of $150,000 bail. Police say more charges could be filed.

White’s preliminary hearing is set for Jan. 27.
