Penn State issued an alert and locked down Hamilton Hall because of a threat Sunday evening.
At about 9 p.m., Penn State issued another alert that the suspect had been located and is in custody.
The suspect is reportedly the father of two students who live in Hamilton Hall, according to a news release from Penn State.
The man allegedly was in a dispute with his family and threatened to harm his children, according to the release.
Penn State had posted on its Facebook page earlier on Sunday that a “verbal threat of violence was given to two students in Hamilton Hall.”
The post said the person was known to be in the Harrisburg area and that the state police had issued a warrant for the person’s arrest.
Hamilton Hall was secured by Penn State police and students were asked to lock their doors and stay inside.
