Bloody woman says man was trying to kill her in Ferguson Township
A woman covered in blood knocked on doors in the Overlook Heights area early Wednesday, telling neighbors “a man was trying to kill her.”
According to a press release issued Wednesday evening, Ferguson Township police responded to the 1500 block of North Allen Street shortly before 2 a.m.
There they found a woman covered in blood with multiple lacerations on her upper body. The woman told police that she had “thought the room was on fire.”
Police said the woman, who had been staying with her boyfriend at a residence in the 1400 block of North Allen, told them she had broken a window and was cut as she attempted to crawl out of the residence.
Police determined there had been no fire at the residence, according to the release.
The woman was transported by ambulance to Mount Nittany Medical Center, police said.
When they returned to the woman’s boyfriend’s residence to investigate further they found suspicious materials in the home, the release said.
“A cursory look into the basement revealed what appeared to be items that would be found in a small methamphetamine lab,” the release said.
Given the potential dangers presented by meth labs, police evacuated other residents of the home. State police responded to further investigate and later determined residents could re-enter the property, the release said.
Police say charges may be filed later in the case, which remains under investigation.
