Man accused of assaulting troopers after ride home from strip club

An Osceola Mills man faces aggravated assault charges after allegedly getting violent with police on the way home from Rebelz Club.

Ryan James Lingenfelter, 25, was arrested and charged with two felony counts of aggravated assault, two misdemeanor counts of simple assault, one misdemeanor count of resisting arrest and one summary count of harassment, after a ride home from a strip club reportedly turned violent. He was preliminarily arraigned Saturday before District Judge Steven Lachman.

According to the affidavit of probable cause, Troopers Thomas Snyder and Trevor Danko were dispatched to Spruce Road in Moshannon, Snow Shoe Township, early Saturday morning.

It was there that they encountered Lingenfelter, who appeared to be flagging the troopers down.

Police say Lingenfelter seemed to be under the influence of alcohol and had blood coming from his nose.

Lingenfelter told police that he was “jumped while at Rebelz strip club in Moshannon.”

The troopers decided to transport Lingenfelter from Moshannon to a house on Gravel Point Road in Howard. The report does not indicate a reason for transporting him to Howard.

According to the affidavit, while in transit, Lingenfelter allegedly became agitated, threatening the lives of Snyder, Danko and their families, telling them that they “better watch out when the handcuffs were off.”

Shortly after arriving at the house on Gravel Point Road, Snyder began to remove the handcuffs on Lingenfelter.

This is when Lingenfelter reportedly began to kick and shove the troopers.

Snyder sustained cuts to his hands and abrasions to his right knee. Danko received a laceration to his right knee, but did not receive injuries to his chest due to his protective ballistic vest.

Lingenfelter was unable to post bail, which was set at $20,000. He is awaiting his preliminary hearing, which is scheduled for Wednesday.
