Woman jailed after domestic dispute over spilled spaghetti
A domestic dispute Thursday resulted in the arrest of a Bellefonte woman after a fight over pasta.
Melody Loftis Reese, 48, was arrested Friday at her home on Wiltshire Drive after police determined she assaulted an adult family member.
When Bellefonte police arrived on the scene, shortly after 10 p.m., they reportedly found the family member in his underwear.
Police say the man told them that Reese had torn off his clothes during an argument that allegedly ensued over spilled spaghetti. According to the affidavit, police observed physical injury to the man’s face, arms, back and neck.
Reese’s father notified police about the dispute.
Reese is charged with a misdemeanor count of assault and a summary charge of harassment.
Tests showed Reese’s blood alcohol level was 0.134 percent.
Reese was taken to the Centre County jail after her arraignment before District Judge Allen Sinclair.
Her bail was set at $10,000, straight cash.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for March 2.
