State College man accused of raping teenage girl
A State College man has been accused of raping a teenage girl.
Dayar D. Brown, 22, was arraigned at District Judge Carmine Prestia’s office Thursday.
Brown is charged with three felonies, including rape by forcible compulsion, sexual assault and corruption of minors.
Police say Brown invited the teenage girl to his East Beaver Avenue apartment on Oct. 28 and forced the girl to have sex with him.
The girl repeatedly told Brown to stop and that she did not want to have sex with him, according to the criminal complaint.
When Brown stopped, the girl told police that she walked out of the apartment and Brown did not say anything to her.
When police questioned Brown he admitted to kissing the teenage girl and says he proceeded to have sex with her. Police said he also told them that he knew she was a teenager, still in high school.
Brown is represented by Jason Dunkle, a defense attorney in State College. Dunkle was unavailable for comment Thursday.
Brown is listed as an undergraduate student, according to the Penn State directory.
Prestia set bail at $25,000.
A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for Wednesday.
