State College police arrested a man on assault charges after they say he dragged a woman to his car, later refusing to let her leave his residence.
Hao Zhang, 21, of State College, was taken into custody after police responded to a report of a physical domestic violence incident at about 3 a.m. Friday.
According to the affidavit, the woman told police that a verbal argument ensued after she went to a meeting. Zhang allegedly told the victim that she had been at the meeting “too long.”
She told police that Zhang picked her up from the meeting and began arguing with her, police said.

The woman told police she asked Zhang to let her out of the car.
He then allegedly pursued her, according to the affidavit, dragging her back to his car, driving to their residence and refusing to let her leave. The woman told police that he shut her in the master bedroom numerous times.
Zhang also allegedly grabbed the woman by her wrists and pushed her to the ground, according to the affidavit.
Zhang is charged with simple assault, false imprisonment and harassment. He was arraigned by District Judge Allen Sinclair, who set bail at $25,000. He was remanded to Centre County Correctional Facility.
His preliminary hearing is scheduled for Wednesday.
