Students hit by vehicle still hospitalized, injuries not life-threatening

State College police said late afternoon Saturday that two Penn State students involved in a vehicle-pedestrian crash on Thursday night in State College were still hospitalized but with non-life-threatening injuries.

A report from police on Friday said the vehicle that reportedly hit the pedestrians was driven by a female Penn State student, 22, of State College, when she allegedly struck the pedestrians on South Garner Street near the East Prospect Avenue intersection.

One pedestrian, Molly Kenny, 20, of Charlotte, N.C., was taken to Mount Nittany Medical Center. The other, Charlotte Moriarty, 19, of Marblehead, Mass., was taken to UPMC Altoona by medical helicopter.

Charges are pending against the driver who police said was likely intoxicated.
