Inmate allegedly spits at corrections officer

A male inmate is being charged after allegedly spitting in the face of a corrections officer.

Corrections officers were escorting a 23-year-old inmate at SCI Benner Township to the shower at 6:45 p.m. on Monday when he became non-compliant, according to report from state police at Rockview.

The inmate entered the shower and then spit in the face of a 27-year-old male corrections officer, according to police.

The inmate will be charged, police said.
