State College police investigating home invasion

A man attempted to rob a 68-year-old man on Saturday, according to State College police.

The older man, police said, fought off his attacker.

Police responded to a home at 10:47 p.m. Saturday on the 100 block of Westerly Parkway, where an older man said a younger man entered through a back door of the house, demanded money and pointed a gun at him.

The younger man, who wore a ski mask, “pistol whipped” the older man, who told the invader that he had no money to give.

The 68-year-old man fought back until the suspect fled. The invader’s ski mask was partially lifted during the fight, and the older man told police the suspect would be in his late 20s to early 30s with short hair and a dirty blonde mustache.

The older man was taken Mount Nittany Medical Center for injuries. The younger man may have also been injured.

Police asking anyone who may have seen a suspicious persons or vehicles in the area at about 10 p.m. Saturday to contact the department at 234-7150, by email or submit an anonymous tip.
