Crash in Rush Township has helicopters called, traffic stalled

A crash occurred late Tuesday morning on U.S. Route 322, just outside of Philipsburg, involving two vehicles, according to state police at Philipsburg.

The crash happened near the intersection with Enterprise Drive at the entrance of the Moshanon Valley Regional Business Park in Rush Township.

Two people, a 40-year old man and a 25-year old woman, were involved in the accident, according to a release from police that did not identify them. Their conditions are unknown, but a medical transport helicopter was requested to take the man to UPMC Altoona. He was not wearing a seat belt.

The woman, who wore a seat belt, was taken to Mount Nittany Medical Center.

Police said the man, in a silver 1996 Honda Accord, drove over the center line on U.S. Route 322 for an unknown reason and hit the woman’s car, a white 2015 Nissan Altima, head on. The crash occurred near Enterprise Drive.

PennDOT spokeswoman Marla Fannin confirmed that there was a “traffic disruption” at the scene.
