Bellefonte man arraigned on child sex abuse charges

A Bellefonte man was arraigned on numerous child sex abuse charges Wednesday.

According to the Centre County District Attorney’s Office, William Beck, 49, was arraigned on 20 counts of aggravated indecent assault, 20 counts of unlawful contact with a minor, one count of photographing or filming sexual acts, 20 counts of endangering the welfare of children, two counts of corruption of a minor, 113 counts of sexual abuse of children, 20 counts of indecent assault and 114 counts of obscene sexual material.

Charges were made after the alleged victims alerted authorities that Beck was allegedly assaulting and photographing them. The victims were 7 and 8 years old at the time and lived near Beck.

Beck was arraigned before District Judge Kelley Gillette-Walker, according to court documents, who set bail at $1 million. He remains incarcerated at the Centre County Correctional Facility. A preliminary hearing is set for June 22.
