Snow cancels school for P-O school district
After initially issuing a two-hour delay, Philipsburg-Osceola School District has decided to cancel classes Thursday due to winter weather conditions.
“I really hate to cancel this early in the school year, but safety is paramount,” P-O Superintendent Gregg Paladina said.
State College, Bellefonte, Penns Valley, Bald Eagle Area, Keystone Central and Tyrone are all operating on two-hour delays.
The first significant snow of the season — Winter Storm Chloe — passed through the area overnight leaving a lot of the white stuff.
PennDOT has issued a weather alert for counties including Centre, Clearfield, Cambria and Blair, noting the “fast-moving Alberta clipper” was creating slippery road conditions, snow accumulations up to two inches and reduce visibility.
