Penn State issues an ‘all-clear’ after Hostetter Services Building evacuated due to bomb threat

A bomb threat led to the evacuation Thursday morning of Penn State’s Hostetter Services Building.

University police received a phone call about 9:45 a.m. Thursday that indicated suspicious packages were delivered to an unknown location. Hostetter Services Building, which houses a campus mail center, was evacuated.

University, municipal, state and federal agencies, along with explosive detection canines, assisted in the investigation that “identified no issues,” Penn State police said in a statement.

An all-clear was issued and employees returned to the building about 12:10 p.m., police said. The investigation will continue.
