Penn State recently placed a fraternity in State College on interim suspension while it investigates an undisclosed incident that occurred during an unregistered social event.

Few other details were made known. According to the university, Acacia fraternity at 234 Locust Lane will not be allowed to host any social events while the Office of Student Conduct’s investigation is ongoing.

Acacia’s national organization has been notified and is cooperating with the investigation, the university said.

The exact nature — or timing — of the incident was not made public, but Penn State announced Friday that the interim suspension started April 11.

“The interim action is intended to minimize continued risks while a full investigation is conducted,” the university wrote in a news release. “Additional sanctions may result depending on the outcome of the university’s inquiry.”
