The historic Nittany Lion Inn on Penn State’s University Park campus will reopen this fall and began taking reservations via its new website Monday afternoon.

The famed hotel at 200 W. Park Ave., State College, has undergone extensive renovations and upgrades since closing to visitors in 2020, with more than $10 million expected to be invested into the building. Interior renderings of the renovations were made public Monday for the first time since the project began.

The inn will reopen just as Penn State’s football season kicks off. Its grand opening will be Sept. 2, five days before the home opener against Bowling Green, according to a press release from owner Scholar Hotels.

The hotel was expected to begin taking reservations online at www.nittanylioninn.com at noon Monday. Around 12:30 p.m. a post on the Nittany Lion Inn’s Facebook page stated they’re having issues with the new website but it should be resolved soon. Later Monday afternoon, the hotel shared a direct link to make reservations.

Take a look at interior renderings of the 92-year-year-old Georgian-style hotel, provided by Scholar Hotels, the owner that acquired the inn and the Penn Stater under a long-term ground lease.
