How would you be impacted by a closure of a Penn State campus? We want to hear from you
Penn State’s president announced last month that a number of the university’s commonwealth campuses will close in the coming years, which would impact students and university employees, but also the community the campus is in.
While President Neeli Bendapudi hasn’t announced which campuses would be closed, she ruled out the seven largest campuses, leaving twelve campuses under consideration for closure: Beaver, DuBois, Fayette, Greater Allegheny, Hazleton, Mont Alto, New Kensington, Schuylkill, Shenango, Scranton, Wilkes-Barre and York.
From workforce and economic impacts to access to affordable higher education, closing any of these campuses could have a large effect across Pennsylvania. That’s why we want to hear from you about your experiences, concerns and opinions.
Should you fill out the form and provide your contact information, you can expect a Centre Daily Times reporter to contact you. That does not mean your name is guaranteed to appear in an article.
Maybe you have a tip or story suggestion but don’t want to identify yourself. That’s OK, your information could still be helpful in pursuing future articles. Or maybe you’d like to share how a campus closure could affect your family or how the campus moral has been since the announcement was made.
Either way, the CDT will not share your name or details without your consent. Prior to any conversation, we can discuss the conditions under which you feel comfortable speaking. We want to hear from you.
