Penn State’s annual Movin’ On music festival will take place Friday and is expected to affect traffic and parking in University Park and surrounding areas.

As one of the largest student-run music festivals in the country, celebrating its 51st year, the student-only event aims to send Penn State’s soon-to-be graduates grads off into the world with live music featuring trending pop stars and entertainment.

The festival will be held at the Intramural Fields between Park Avenue and Services Road and will run from 3:30 to 10:30 p.m. Entry will be permitted through the south access point, located near the Bryce Jordan Center. All attendees must be 18 years of age or older and are required to present a valid ID for entry.

The lineup will include Swedish singer and songwriter Zara Larsson as the headliner, alongside The Dare, That Mexican OT and Slayyyter, who will be the first performing artist. The event opens with the BATTLE 2026 winner, a Penn State student performer who was chosen on March 31 at Schwab Auditorium.

There will be no alcohol allowed on the premises, along with other prohibited items listed on the event’s official website.

Parking for the festival will only be available at Stadium West for $10 the day of the event or on East Deck for $2 the first hour and $1 the following hours with a $16 maximum. Penn State parking permits will be valid after 4 p.m. Friday.

Sections of Park Avenue will be closed before and after the event to ensure attendee safety. The stretch between Bigler Road and University Drive will close at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, while University Drive between Park Avenue and Services Road will close at 5 p.m.

There will also be a closure on Services Road, between Big Hollow Road and University Drive, through 8 a.m. Saturday. Access to the Orange B3 lot will be available only from the entrance on Big Hollow Road.

Park Avenue closures will affect parking for the Nittany Lion Softball Park, where Yellow H parking will only be accessible via the Curtin Road entrance. Exit routes may vary during the evening, so drivers should follow posted signage and staff directions.

The university advises heavy traffic in these areas during the event and urges drivers to use caution and plan to arrive at their destinations ahead of time.

The Campus Shuttle on Beaver Avenue will end service at 5 p.m. Friday and the Campus Shuttle on College Avenue will end at 5:30 pm.

A map of available parking areas and road closures mentioned above can be found on Penn State’s interactive map.
