State of State conference opens registration Monday
State of State announced Friday that registration for its third annual conference will open Monday and run through Feb. 8.
Registration — found at psustateofstate.com — guarantees entrance into the conference and a free lunch during the event.
State of State 2016 will be held Feb. 13 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Alumni Hall in the HUB-Robeson Center.
State of State, a student-run organization at Penn State, is “committed to facilitating a dialogue within the community about important Penn State-related issues,” according to a press release.
Divided into four sets, this year’s conference will examine the theme “Explore the Glory.”
Each set will explore an aspect of Penn State life: student involvement; tradition and change; value of a Penn State degree; and inclusivity and identity.
State of State will announce the first round of speakers on Mondayand the second round of speakers on Feb. 1. Past speakers have been students, faculty, administrators, alumni and community leaders such as sociology professor and World in Conversation Co-Director Sam Richards and former Penn State quarterback Shane McGregor.
