Several events happening on campus will have an effect on transportation at Penn State this weekend.
Two charity events will happen Sunday. The Habitat for Humanity 5K Run/Walk will be followed by the Fiji Push charity vehicle push.
Because of that, Penn State will close Pollock Road between Burrowes Road and Old Main from about noon to 7 p.m. Sunday.
According to the university, while the road is closed, people will not be able to access sections of Lot Brown A behind Willard Building and next to Electrical Engineering East. Lot Brown E will be accessible, by traveling south on Fraser Road from Curtin Road.
The bollards separating Curtin and Fraser will be removed to facilitate travel to and from this area Sunday afternoon, Penn State said in a release.
But that’s not the only complication. A crane lift will close the Old Main parking lot from about 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Sunday.
Alternative parking will be available nearby at Lot Brown C, Lot Brown B and the HUB Parking Deck. From the time the lot reopens until about 7 p.m. Sunday, access to the Old Main parking lot will be available only by traveling west on Pollock Road from Shortlidge Road or Bigler Road.
