Five people are left at the helm of The Second Mile’s board of directors.
The chairman is State College real estate developer Bob Poole, and Dave Woodle, the interim CEO, is the vice president.
Earlier this summer, the main Second Mile board and its regional committees numbered more than two dozen.
“We’ve trimmed down to be more consistent with managing the dissolution process,” Woodle said. “It’s really just a subset of the people who used to be on there.”

Woodle said the board meets on an as-needed basis. For instance, if an issue arises that needs approval, such as an offer from someone to buy their South Atherton Street headquarters, then Woodle would need the directors to vote.
State Sen. Jake Corman, R-Benner Township, was on the committee formed to look at the charity’s future and what to do with its programs.
He has resigned from the board now that the charity is in the transition toward dissolving.
"We tried to keep the camps open this summer,” he said.
“We were getting calls from parents who were wanting us to keep them open. That's the heartening part of all of this."
Other current board members are Linda Gall, Bill Martin and Al Pringle.
