Share our heritage: Looking for information

Today’s photos are from Win Bryson, of Pacific Grove, Calif.

He wrote: “I’m looking for two (3, actually) 1960s State College ‘IDs’:

▪  the ID of the pictured motel (with a McDonald’s-like arch at the canopy)

▪  the ID of the pictured College Avenue parade (date/event, like ‘1961 Spring Week’ for instance) ... and if that’s known,

▪  whose parade float is pictured?

“These images are from a (deceased) classmate’s 35 mm slides, and are from 1960-1963, and I am trying to scan and ID the photos for family. Since my PSU days were ‘commute’ by shoe-leather express, I never got as far as motels, and I simply don’t recall any parades while there, ’59-’63.”

If anyone has information, they can contact the CDT at and we will pass along the information to Bryson.

Each Monday, the Centre Daily Times will publish an installment in our “Share our Heritage” series, featuring photos from Centre County’s past.
