Two fawns can’t get out of swimming pool - then officers show up, Ohio video shows

An Ohio homeowner struggled over an hour to pull two fawns out of her swimming pool on Sunday, the Parma Police Department said in a Facebook post.

Her attempts were unsuccessful, so she called the police, according to the post.

Body camera footage of the incident shows four officers working to rescue the deer with a rope and a couple of pool cleaning tools. The fawns swim frantically as the officers try to get close enough to grab them.

Eventually an officer was able to grab one of the fawns by the leg while another used a rope to pull it out and set it free.

“You’re a good cowboy,” one of the officers says. Another officer can be heard saying, “I am not a cowboy” as he pulls the deer out.

Two officers led the other fawn toward the rope using the pool cleaning tools before another officer grabbed its tail and pulled it from the water.

“The deer were tired, but happy, as you can hear them let out a ‘cheer‘ of appreciation after being rescued,” the police department wrote in its post.

The video has garnered a lot of attention on Facebook with 815 reactions, 155 comments and 539 shares as of Wednesday.
