Man fumbles while proposing at Cowboys stadium — and drops ring in waterfall fountain
A man fumbled something more expensive than a football while proposing at AT&T Stadium in Texas.
Niko Valdez and his family traveled to Arlington for the Thanksgiving football game. He brought along his pregnant girlfriend to partake in the fun and had a surprise in store, his dad shared with Storyful.
“Approximately six months prior to the day, my son made plans to surprise his girlfriend and propose at AT&T Stadium when we went to the annual Cowboys Thanksgiving game,” Adrian Valdez told Storyful.
Valdez said his son brought Christina Ristau, his son’s girlfriend, to the Arlington stadium under the guise of taking photos with a onesie to announce their new baby.
Instead, Ristau got a big surprise when Niko Valdez bent down on one knee — and dropped the ring into a nearby fountain.
The big moment was captured in a video posted to Twitter by Adrian Valdez.
The younger Valdez is seen bending down on one knee, opening the ring box and then making the crucial fumble. He then frantically looks around, while Ristau laughs.
Someone in the background can be heard saying, “Oh my god, are you serious?”
The ring was found after a 30-minute search, an Instagram post said.
But all’s well that ends well: She said yes.
Adrian Valdez ended his Twitter thread on a happy note with a sweet photo of the engaged couple with a Cowboys onesie and the recovered ring.
