Mountain lion penned in classroom after wandering into high school, CA officials say

A mountain lion that slipped into a California high school has been contained in a classroom, sheriff’s officials reported.

All students and teachers at Pescadero High School are safe, the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office reported on Twitter on Wednesday, June 1.

U.S. Fish and Wildlife officers have been called in to help remove the mountain lion, sheriff’s officials said.

The mountain lion was corralled inside an English classroom, KTVU reported.

Pescadero High School has an enrollment of about 90. Pescadero, south of Half Moon Bay near San Francisco, has a population of 220.
