2-year-old found locked in abandoned car for 2 days along Alaska trail, troopers say
A 2-year-old child had been locked inside an abandoned car for days along a remote Alaska trail, authorities said.
Alaska State Troopers received a report of an abandoned child around 1:31 a.m. on Thursday, July 14, near Healy.
The child was found inside the car about 6.8 miles along the remote Stampede Trail, troopers said.
Troopers said it appeared the toddler had been locked inside the car for two days.
The child was given to the Alaska Office of Children’s Services and appeared to be in good health, authorities said.
Authorities are looking for the child’s 69-year-old grandmother, Mary Wilson, who was the last known person to be with the child.
