Residents asked to search their fields for missing man last seen at Michigan concert
A 31-year-old man last seen leaving a concert in Michigan has gone missing, and police have asked nearby residents for help.
Michigan State Police say Logan Thayer Sweet attended a concert at The Listening Room in Grand Rapids on Sunday, July 24. He left the concert on his 2022 Kawasaki 650 sport bike, but never returned home.
Ali Sweet, Logan’s wife, said she last heard from him at 9:55 p.m. that night.
“(Sweet’s wife) tried to put it in the back of her mind that, ‘It’s probably nothing, he may have stopped off.’ As morning came and he still wasn’t home, it was very concerning for her,” Amber Gillette, a close friend of the couple, told WOOD.
The last known location for Sweet was near the rural towns of Dorr and Burnips, about 20 miles south of Grand Rapids, state police said. Landowners in the area were asked by state police to check their fields for any sign of Sweet or his motorcycle, which is charcoal gray.
More than 8,000 people have joined the “Help find Logan Sweet” group on Facebook, with many involved in the ground search.
The Listening Room and Tall Heights, who performed at the venue on Sunday, have also commented on social media about Sweet’s disappearance.
“For all who attended our Grand Rapids show Sunday, please help if you have any information!” Tall Heights said.
Sweet is described as 6 feet tall and 240 pounds, with shoulder-length brown hair and hazel/green eyes.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Michigan State Police at 269-792-2213.
