Paint job on the exterior of this house for sale has Zillow Gone Wild talking. ‘Why?’
A house for sale in Staten Island, New York, has impeccable timing when it comes to the paint job on the face of the residence.
The home, which is listed for $579,900, has an American flag painted on the front — and had hit the market a month prior to the midterm elections that have dominated the news cycle. While the outside sports red, white and blue, the 2,400-square-foot inside is as basic as they come, according to the photos on Zillow.com.
Per the listing, features include:
Formal living room
Dining room
Fireplace
Three bedrooms
2.5 bathrooms
Basement
One car garage
Two decks
Hardwood floors
But it’s the front that caught the attention of fans on Zillow Gone Wild, a popular Facebook page and Twitter account that highlight unique houses on the real estate market.
“If this isn’t the most perfect representation of the ‘American dream’, I don’t know what is,” one person said.
“Looks like a Howard Johnson,” another commented.
“Built higher to avoid any tidal flooding, I suspect,” someone observed.
“Not my style on the outside- but not too bad on the inside,” one person said. “Needs some work- but that’s actually a decent price for NY, especially one of the boros.”
“Staten Island?! I coulda sworn it would be Texas,” another expressed.
“Freedom of speech is a thing, but not taste that’s for sure,” someone said.
“A left path and a right path that take you to the same place. A bit on the nose,” one person tweeted.
And finally...
“Why?” someone asked.
