Fan responds to concert selfie drama with a shirt — and Miranda Lambert takes notice
One Miranda Lambert fan responded to the country star’s selfie drama using a creative, yet unusual manner — by using fashion.
A fan who was at the July 22 concert in Las Vegas caught the interaction and posted it on their Instagram story. The video shows the artist, wearing a blue jumper with gold fringe, pointing out a fan who was wearing a shirt that actually addressed the controversy. The video was shared by Lambert’s guitarist, Ethan Ballinger, on his own stories.
“Her shirt says, ‘Shoot tequila shots, not selfies,’” the artist says in the video while addressing the fan as the crowd cheers.
The shirt is in reference to Lambert’s July 15 concert where she called out a group of women who were trying to take a selfie while Lambert was singing, McClatchy News reported.
“I’m gonna stop right here for a second, I’m sorry,” Lambert said in a TikTok video. “These girls are worried about their selfie and not listening to the song.”
According to E! Online, Lambert accepted a tiny bottle of tequila from a fan in the audience and took a swig before continuing with the Saturday concert. She also pointed and said, “She did it, I didn’t!”
Lambert is in Las Vegas through 2023 for “Velvet Rodeo The Las Vegas Residency at Planet Hollywood,” Billboard reported.
