Shivering kittens were drenched in beer inside dumpster. Someone heard cries for help
Four tiny kittens are safe and warm after coming close to death, one Virginia shelter says.
It was a team effort in saving the 1-week-old babies, who were rushed into the Lynchburg Humane Society after some people heard the kittens crying and came to the rescue.
“This is a hard one,” the shelter said in a Oct. 31 Facebook post. “Earlier this week, we received four one-week-old kittens found in a closed bag, in a dumpster, and covered in beer. Two amazing people heard their cries, got them out, and rushed them to the Center.
“These kittens needed help urgently. They were shivering and because they were so young and tiny, this was a matter of life or death.”
The shelter was able to get the kittens stabilized, and now all four are being cared for in foster homes.
“Their names are Jack, Sally, Victoria, and Victor. Thank you for standing by us as we fight for these sweet kitten’s lives,” the shelter said. “And thank you to the exceptional actions of the people who saved these kittens’ lives. If not for them, these kittens would not have been given the chance to live.”
The kittens are not yet available for adoption.

Lynchburg is about a 115-mile drive west from Richmond.
