Driver hits and kills bear in New Hampshire, cops say. Now he’s charged with DUI
A driver hit and killed a bear while he’s accused of driving drunk in New Hampshire, police said.
Officers responded to the crash and found the bear had died Sunday, Nov. 3, around 6:15 p.m., the Hollis Police Department said in a news release.
While officers were speaking with the driver, 30-year-old Timothy Harrigan from Massachusetts, they noticed signs he might be impaired and tested his blood alcohol content, the department said.
It was .17 — more than twice the legal limit of .08, officials said.
Officers arrested Harrigan and charged him with DUI, aggravated DUI and an open container violation.
