Powerball player wins $1 million. Where in the US was the lucky ticket sold?
A Powerball ticket sold in Massachusetts won $1 million but just missed the $48 million jackpot, lottery officials say.
The ticket matched five winning numbers, but not the Powerball, in the drawing Saturday, Dec. 14, the national Powerball site said.
Nobody won the grand prize, which rises to an estimated $55 million, with a cash value of $25.7 million, for the next drawing Monday, Dec. 16, the site said.
The winning numbers were 12, 17, 23, 52 and 67, with a Powerball of 1, the lottery said. The Power Play was 2x.
Nearly 420,000 other Powerball tickets sold in the United States also won prizes ranging from $4 to $100,000, the lottery said.
The Powerball jackpot was last won Dec. 7, when a New York player won the $256 million grand prize, lottery officials said.
