Grandma upset over car troubles makes stop for Missouri lottery ticket — and wins big
Without a working car, a Missouri woman’s day was off to a bad start. However, a winning lottery ticket helped turn that day around.
She had enlisted the help of one of her granddaughters to drive her around, the woman told Missouri lottery officials.
They stopped at a convenience store in Taylor, and the grandmother picked up a $5 scratch-off ticket of the Silver Bells game to brighten her mood.
The ticket revealed a $100,000 top prize, lottery officials said in the Dec. 20 news release.
“We scratched it off and my granddaughter about died!” the woman said in the release.
The winner then took the ticket to her daughter and showed off the big win.
“I took a look at it and was like, ‘You suck!’” the daughter told officials. She later said she was happy that her mother won the prize.
Taylor is about a 135-mile drive northwest from St. Louis.
