Playmate fat-shames a woman at gym on Snapchat then gets slammed

Dani Mathers, Playboy’s Playmate of the Year in 2015, posted a photo of a naked woman at her Los Angeles gym to Snapchat this week to fat-shame her.

The woman did not know she was being photographed.

“If I can’t unsee this then you can’t either,” mocked Mathers, who also posted a photo of herself with her hand over her mouth as she laughed.

It took all of two seconds for social media users to rain scorn down onto the comely Playmate. But that’s not the only backlash she faces for her crime against common decency.

TMZ reported that Mathers has been kicked out of the L.A. Fitness gym and fired from a longtime radio gig.

The gym also called the police after it verified that she took the photo, TMZ reported.

“Her behavior is appalling and puts every member’s privacy at risk,” a gym spokesperson told TMZ. “We have handled this internally and also notified the police.”

The gym prohibits use of cellphones and photography in its locker rooms. “This is not only our rule, it is just common decency,” the spokesperson told TMZ.

People on social media ripped the 29-year-old Playmate for posting the picture.

Mathers apologized in a video, saying it was “absolutely wrong” and explaining that she meant to only share it with a friend. She said she’s new to Snapchat and didn’t realize that she had shared it with others.

“I have chosen to do what I do for a living because I love the female body and I know that body shaming is wrong and that’s not what I’m about,” Mathers said. “That’s not the type of person that I am.

“I know that I have upset a lot of people out there but please, please believe me when I say this is not the type of person I am. I’ve never done this before, I will never do this again. You have my word.”

Her words rang hollow to many who posted comments under the video, which was posted to YouTube.

“Prime example of a non-apology,” wrote one person.

“Your biggest accomplishment is showing your junk for cash, and you have the nerve to mock an innocent woman who was just trying to take a freaking shower at the gym?” wrote one woman.

“You put her nude body on the internet without her permission for the sole purpose of laughing at her. Now it’s been shared, screen shots have been made, awful people are using it to degrade her....and your apology rings hollow. It wasn’t until the backlash from your posting that it was suddenly an ‘accident.’ Karma is gonna’ sting.”

TMZ reported on Friday that management at KLOS-FM in Los Angeles had suspended Mathers indefinitely in the wake of the controversy. Mathers made regular appearances on the station’s “Heidi and Frank” show.

And not only has she been kicked out of her L.A. Fitness, she’s been banned from every location the gym operates.

Said a spokesperson to TMZ: Mathers “is not permitted back at any club, ever.”
