“Too dang old to be going down water slides,” David Salmon said above a video posted on his Facebook page. “Fell off this one that is over a rocky cliff.”

The video shows him sliding down feet-first and careening around, up and over a curve in the slide – then out of the slide and the frame.

The Dallas man suffered broken bones, cuts and bruises, he said Monday. The water slide was at a private home at Lake Travis in Austin.

FOX 7 Austin reports that Salmon fell 10 to 15 feet onto some rocks, breaking his arm and several ribs and suffering cuts and bruises.

Salmon says in his post he’s recovering in a Round Rock hospital. “Just found out I don’t need surgery so that’s good news,” he adds.

The post had gotten more than 105,000 views on his Facebook page as of Tuesday morning and numerous more on FOX 7, WFAA and elsewhere.
