Millinder seeks third term as Centre County register of wills, clerk of Orphans’ Court

Christine Millinder is seeking her third term as Centre County’s register of wills and clerk of Orphans’ Court.

Millinder, a Pleasant Gap resident, was first elected to the office in 2016 and prior to that, she worked in the office for 28 years, according to a press release.

The release states Millinder “has been honored to serve in this office and would greatly appreciate the opportunity to continue to do so.”

The register of wills, is responsible for “probating wills and granting letters of administration in cases where persons die without leaving a will,” according to the release, and also has jurisdiction over and maintains records of wills, inventory of estates and other miscellaneous documents, among other duties. Millinder also serves as clerk of the Orphans’ Court and is responsible for performing the administrative record keeping duties for the court and issues marriage licenses, among other items.

Millinder is currently the president of the Registers of Wills and Clerks of Orphans’ Court Association and is on different committees within the association, according to the release. She is a member of the Faith United Methodist Church in Bellefonte and is on the board of trustees. She is also an associate member of the Bald Eagle F.O.P. Lodge #51.
