Election season is upon us, and Pennsylvania voters will make selections in key races whether by mail or at the polls Nov. 8.

To help you be better prepared to vote in the midterms, the Centre Daily Times would like to collect questions you have about the election, the races and the candidates. As part of our commitment to a robust democracy, we’d like to use your questions to shape our coverage this election season.

Here’s what’s on the line Nov. 8 in Pennsylvania

Centre County voters will weigh in on high-profile state and federal races.

  • Democrat Josh Shapiro, the state’s attorney general, is running against Republican state Sen. Doug Mastriano of Franklin County for Pennsylvania governor. Gov. Tom Wolf, a Democrat, is leaving the office after eight years due to term limits.
  • In a race that could help decide control of the U.S. Senate, Democrat John Fetterman, the state’s lieutenant governor, is facing off against Republican Mehmet Oz, the TV personality known as Dr. Oz. The seat is open due to the retirement of Republican Sen. Pat Toomey after two terms.
  • In the 15th Congressional District, incumbent Rep. Glenn Thompson, R-Howard, who was first elected in Congress in 2008, is opposed by Democrat Mike Molesevich, a business owner and environmental consultant from Union County.
  • The redistricting process has split Centre County into three state House districts. Incumbent Rep. Scott Conklin, D-Rush Township, is running against Republican Steve Yetsko in the 77th District. The newly created 82nd District pits Democrat Paul Takac, a member of College Township Council, against Republican Justin Behrens, a social worker. In the 171st District, incumbent Rep. Kerry Benninghoff, R-Bellefonte, is facing off against Democrat Robert Zeigler, a member of Millheim Borough Council.
