Up the tax on beer

After witnessing some of the behavior on State Patty’s Day as a result of excessive drinking, I would like to suggest a significant tax on keg beer.

It seems that certain businesses are profiting from making huge quantities of beer available.

For example, let the appropriate authority levy a special $100 tax on each keg of beer sold to offset police overtime costs. That will slow down consumption.

It’s time to look at the root cause. Some students feel that gluttony and drunkenness are acceptable.

I feel that most of the students would like to make their parents proud — even the ones who find themselves going to the bathroom in their neighbor’s front yard.

How about if we help them by slowing down the folks who are flooding the town with keg beer and lining their pockets?
