U.S. House honors Paterno
The U.S. House of Representatives adopted a resolution honoring Penn State football coach Joe Paterno’s 400th career win.
The resolution was introduced by U.S. Rep. Glenn Thompson, R-Howard Township, who gathered 28 co-sponsors, including the entire Pennsylvania delegation.
The resolution commends Paterno for his achievements on and off the field — namely, his national championships, undefeated seasons, the graduation rate amongst the players he has coached, and his record of philanthropy.
“Coach Paterno has given a lifetime to Penn State, the game, and his players — on and off the field,” Thompson said in a news release. “His charitable spirit has been unsurpassed, and he leads by example.”
