About 200 Penn State students rallied outside Joe Paterno’s State College home, beginning about 6 p.m., in a show of support for the embattled coach.
The crowd, alternately chanted such things as “go home media,” and “we love JoePa,” and at one point began singing Penn State’s alma mater.
When Paterno arrived on the street, they tried to block the the media’s view of him.
Paterno, when he got inside his home, spoke to the students from a window, saying he was proud of them. He then stepped out of his house and spoke to the gathered students.
